"Even More Funny On The Screen... Than It Was As A Broadway And City-To-City Stage Smash!"

The movie version of the comedy The Odd Couple stars Jack Lemmon as Felix and Walter Matthau as Oscar. Felix and Oscar are recently divorced and decide to move in together even though their personalities are extremely different. Oscar is a New York sports writer who is admittedly a slob and Felix is a TV news writer who is super neat to the point of being neurotic about it. When Oscar's card playing buddies come over for their weekly game, the comedy begins. Felix is extremely upset about his divorce and locks himself in the bathroom during the card game. The guys try everything to help Felix out of his depression over his divorce, but he just wants to wallow in his misery. Later in the movie, Oscar tries to set himself and Felix up on a double date, but nothing seems to work.

All of this, along with the difference in their housekeeping habits, results in Oscar becoming increasingly frustrated with Felix. It culminates in a wild argument complete with spaghetti throwing. This movie, released in 1968, was directed by Gene Saks. It was based on the Neil Simon Broadway play.
